Welcome…
I’m Zara and I have two main passions in my life. My art and my animals.
Creating art has always been an escape for me and more like therapy. Living with the flare ups associated with inflammatory arthritis, I have always found time spent at the easel is more than just simply creating art. Not only is it incredibly fulfilling but it’s a way to channel every day anxieties and stresses we encounter into something positive and productive.
My passion for helping other artists led me to create this platform where I could continue to teach over 1,200 students from across the world, how to paint and draw realistically in pastels, acrylics and graphite. I started my art career as a pet portrait artist and always felt so honoured and excited to be able to call that my job. Being asked to draw someone’s much loved pet is so special and a feeling that I’d love to help other artists experience should this be the path they wish to take. This is why I focus my teaching on pet portrait tutorials as much as wildlife.
Any spare time, away from the easel, I am with my pets. My dog, 3 horses, 9 sheep and a few reptiles, they all keep me busy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What do I want to achieve?
I am passionate about helping artists achieve their dreams. Whether that’s becoming a pet
portrait or wildlife artist or enjoying art as a hobby. This is why I offer a mixture of wildlife and domestic pet subjects in my tutorials. The feeling of receiving the first commission is something that many people feel isn’t within their reach but with patience, practice and determination, anything is possible.

All tutorials from the last 2+ years have been recorded with a voice over whilst I work. No parts are sped up or cut out. This makes all of the lessons, even larger more complex projects, step by step.
